THE PRACTICE

General Surgery:

Surgical Specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts and often thyroid and parathyroid glands. They also deal with diseases of the breast, soft tissue, trauma, Peripheral artery disease and hernias and sometimes perform upper endoscopies and colonoscopies.

What is Robotic Surgery:

Robotic surgery is done with the use of the Davinci Surgical Robot system. The use of the robot allows for more complex procedures to be done in a minimally invasive approach. The robot is a tool that provides surgeons : 3D visibility, fully wristed instruments that mimic the wristed moments of the human hand, easy suturing and improved ergonomics.  Less invasive procedures allow for quicker recovery, decrease blood loss, decrease in wound complications and earlier return to work.

What is Vascular Surgery:
Vascular Surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the arteries, veins and lymphatics are managed by medical therapy, minimally invasive catheters and surgical reconstruction techniques. The vascular surgeon is trained in the diagnosis and management of diseases affecting all of the vascular system excluding the heart and intracranial vessels.
